The Last Ride of the Lake Park Raiders! Thursday April 26, 2018

"Well, the time has come to celebrate Springtime, May flowers, Cinco de Mayo, mud season, and outdoor Cowboy Action at the Brookfield Conservation Club!"

I bet she's headin' over to Yankee Flats right now!

The Last Ride of the Lake Park Raiders! (for this season, anyway!)

Thursday Work Shirker Open Class CAS Match on April 26, 2018

A good time was had by all!

We had a posse of 11 determined lead-slingers competing for the first place position in our “last of the Niles Indoor season” Thursday Work Shirker Open Class CAS Match! What a mouthful!

First Place went to Krazy Thom with the silent H! Congratulations!

Second place went to Swiftwater Jack! Congratulations again!

The fast shootin’ Swiss came in Third and Shenango Joe came in Fourth!

Duelin’ Diehl was Fifth.

Hagen was Sixth.

T.J. Law Dog was lucky number Seven. He’s movin’ up fast!

The Brunswick Kid finished in Super Eighth place.

Rattlesnake Ruby was Ninth.

Big Tenth spot went to Slow Mo Dern. I took the time to do it good!

Eleventh place went to our own Missouri Jake with his 1875 Outlaws!

They do exist!!

T.J. Law Dog was our only clean shootin’ contestant today! He’s getting’ better and better! Congratulations, T.J.!

Swiftwater missed getting a clean match by one! AwwSh**t!

Hagen finished exactly in the middle of the list and earned the only given “P” and if we had an award for those, he would have surely been presented with it!

Ohio’s own Swiss, our third place winner, joined the posse today for the first time. Welcome, Swiss!

Congratulations on third place!

Missouri Jake came back to shoot after a short hiatus. It’s good to see Jake back in the saddle again! Welcome back, Jake!

Congratulations to all our winners and participants!

Thank you for joining us for the Last Ride of the Lake Park Raiders!

We’ll be heading back east to the Brookfield Conservation Club starting in May. Our first match under the trees will be on Saturday May 12, 2018. Bigger targets, more noise, exercise and fresh air! What could better! The Shenango River Rats will ride again! Clang!

Watch our website blog or the SASS Wire for the announcements.

We’ll shoot 5 stages this year instead of the usual six. We’ll see how that works. I can see many advantages from my saddle so we’ll see how it works. The door’s always open for suggestions.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all our friends who are under the weather or have illness in the family. We’re thinking of you.

Thank you to all our veterans and friends who are in the Armed Forces. Thank you for your service.

Range Officer Courses will be offered at Brown Township on Saturday May 19th, 2018. You can find the details at the Tusco Longriders or the Brown Township Regulators websites and the SASS Wire.

Big cowboy thanks go out to everyone and all the Cowboys and Cowgirls for helping make this past indoor season at Niles a success. If you didn’t make it out this year, don’t worry, we hope to be there next year with more fun-filled scenarios, stages, fractured frontier fables, and fresh copy paper!

So long for now and I hope to see you outside under the trees at Brookfield!

Cowboy Action Shooting is a wonderful sport and these activities promote honesty, moral correctness, a love of history, and it’s a heck of a lot of fun!”

- David Chicoine

“Think about it, where else could you go and dress up like a cowboy or western movie actor, talk like you were from Wyoming, even though you grew up in Akron, enjoy your favorite sport (shooting!) and play the ham all at the same time without the slightest chance of being ridiculed?”

Go out there and try it, you’ll be glad you did!
