Brookfield CAS! Saturday September 14, 2019!

"What the heck is this?"

"That's the gunfight at Dakota Bert's Saloon!

Yuh gotta do that before ya go to the Rat Hotel!"

"No, I mean 'True Tales'! Ain't that an oxymoron?"

"I don't know what an 'oxy' is an' who you callin' a moron?"

This is how them gunfights git started!

Brookfield CAS! Saturday September 14, 2019!

It rained most of Friday night but cleared off in the morning and Saturday turned out to be another beautiful day!

We had 13 shooters; lots of folks are out of town or attending other matches.

Sandusky had their 3 day Stoney Bottom match this weekend and Logan’s Ferry was also shooting. This is the time of year for state matches.

Our fine little match was a match where one could start the stage saying anything you wanted about the stage!

You could say anything you wanted after the stage also but I heard nothing negative! I heard only laughter and maybe an “AwwSh**t!” from Hagen at the Cabbage Patch! Hahahah!

Cheatin’ Charlie won first place! Congratulations, Charlie!

Willy Goodnews was second place and Swiftwater Jack finished third!

Fourth place was won by Krazy Thom and Lenny James came in fifth.

The sixth place spot went to hard-working Hagen with Shenango Joe finishing in the lucky seventh place this time.

Wild West Point’s Blue Eyed Bob won the eighth place! It was good to see him attend and have some fun! He came up to shoot the elk but it wasn’t running! AwwSh**t! Bad news!

Good news was that the “elk stage” took only a half hour to complete! We could have lunch sooner!

Ol’ Slow Mo finished at number 9 again…number 9, number 9…

You know he was having fun! He even got a red second place ribbon! YeeeHaawww!

My good friend, the Brunswick Kid, finished in the number 10 spot! That new hat sure looks good!

BoJak was our lucky eleventh place winner followed by his lovely wife Hanna! Blue ribbon winner Heartless Hanna finished strong in our match’s twelfth place!

Boonie Young, our Wild Bunch aficionado came in first place of all the Wild Bunch shooters today. Congratulations, Boonie!

No clean shooter ribbons were given out today!

Hagen was our only clean shooter but got a Procedural penalty! AwwSh**t! Give that man a brown ribbon!

Brown ribbons, the AwwSh**t! awards, were awarded to the Brunswick Kid, Hagen, Willy Goodnews, Shenango Joe, and Slow Mo Dern.

Maybe the stages were too hard? No way!

No negative comments were received by this Mo so we’re doin’ something good!

“We should make those stages harder ‘cause we’re runnin’ outta brown ribbons!”

Kat made us a good lunch of pulled pork, pickles, potato chips, cole slaw, coffee, soda pop, cowboy water, and little peanut butter and chocolate squares that kinda tasted like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups! Yum!

Thanks to Duelin’ Diehl and Missouri Jake for coming in to help us with sign-up, scoring, tractor driving, and other posse chores. It’s always a good thing when people come in to help.

Thanks to the target paintin’ Brunswick Kid, steel plate wrestling Hagen, BoJak and Heartless Hanna for mowing, bringing ice, coming in early, and all the other chores they do around the club.

Zen and the Art of Elk Target Maintenance! Thanks, Lenny! Lenny gave the elk motor his time and his best but it wouldn’t go. Special thanks to Lenny and Hagen for giving it the ol’ cowboy try!

Thanks to everybody who pitched in at the match! It helped us have a smooth running match and a timely match too!

A new partner named Rick came to watch us and I think he had a good time! He had no trouble meeting people and making friends and I think he might want to start cowboy shooting real soon!

Thank you for making him welcome!

We’ll have to get him fixed up with a practice session sometime when the loggers aren’t cutting in the woods. That way he’ll know just what to do come match day! He might could go home with a ribbon!

Our next match is the

Thursday Work Shirker Open Class CAS Match on

Thursday September 26, 2019!

Look for all variations of the famous Ohio sweep!

We’ll do the Ohio sweep, the ChaCha sweep, the Mo-defied MOHO (miss one, hit one) sweep, the BoJak sweep, and maybe something new we’re working on as well as our flying birds, hotel rats, plate rack, cabbage patch, and an elk surprise!

Sound like fun? You betcha!

We hope to see you there!

Visitors are always welcome but bring your safety glasses and hearing protectors. Safety first!

All the best,

Slow Mo Dern and the Shenango River Rats

Thank you for your support!
