"Doc's back in town today!"

"I heard he's a 'huckleberry'!"

"You mean like Huckleberry Hound?"

He's the one what cheated everybody out of their toilet paper!

Indoor Cowboy Action in Niles, Ohio on Saturday 14, 2020!

Howdy, Friends!

I was right! A good time was had by all!

13 shooters plus spectators, visitors, and helpers came out to join the Niles Lake Park Raiders posse as we shot up Curly Bill’s house, the windows, the house cat, and the UPS package on his doorstep! Next time we’ll shoot up his mail box!

We also shot up Julieta’s giant daisies and stacked-up water buckets! Ain’t that a peach of a hand!

The 5 Bad Leprechaun Hombres in their little green Leprechaun hats went down in a blaze of gunfire as did the colorful 20 Target Long Krazy Thom round count extravaganza!

We also tried the indoor version of the Rattler Sweep ‘cause the Hoot Sweep went over so well at the last match.

First place went to Hooligan Howes! Congratulations, Hooligan!

Second place went to N.A. Custer and Lenny James came in third.

Match results:

  1. Hooligan Howes

  2. N.A. Custer

  3. Lenny James

  4. Hagan

  5. La Porte Lefty

  6. Shenango Joe

  7. Flat Iron Mike

  8. Rattlesnake Ruby

  9. Slow Mo Dern

  10. Boonie Young-CAS

  11. Wyatt N. Erdy

  12. Idaho FAS – DNF

  13. Curly Dex – DNF

Boonie Young won first place in Wild Bunch.

Clean shooters and AwwSh**t recognition wasn’t recorded so it’s lost to history forever but the whole posse enjoyed Rattlesnake Ruby’s 2 crockpots full of genuine authentic Cajun gumbo that we all ate with gusto along with the homemade bread and butter that was also brought in!

I wish I could have taken some home; it was excellent!

Come for the shootin’ – stay for the gumbo! Thanks, Rattlesnake!

Wild Bunch and Cowboy shootin’ aficionado Boonie Young was sportin’ his new pair of 45 LC shootin’ irons which he carried in a classy two-gun rig. He looked right professional!

Idaho FAS had so much fun at the last match that he and Curly returned for another round of fun and Old West wackiness!

Mailman Mike was there to watch the match and decided he wanted try his hand at punchin’ the paper Cowboy Action style and I don’t know if he liked it or not! He rode off into the afternoon sunset!

Lenny James came out to take third place and wanted to try his hand running the timer which he did very well! Thanks, Lenny!

Our good friend of many years, Mare’s Leg master Wyatt N. Erdy came out for some fun and did real fine! We haven’t seen him in about a year! We’re glad he’s feelin’ better!

Big thanks to all the folks that came early to help with the match. Thanks to everyone for helping out with all the various posse duties. There’s always so much to do and I appreciate all the help. Thank you.

LaPorte Lefty and Mrs. Lefty came out and it’s always great to see them; they’re fine people and fun to be around and they help us a lot.

A lot of our regular posse members are missing in action. They have some health issues, injuries, or are just being cautious so we want to keep them in our thoughts and prayers. We want them know they’re not forgotten. Thank you.

Our next match is the Thursday Work Shirker Open Class CAS Match on:

Thursday March 26, 2020.

Look for another rendition of the Krazy Thom sweep, Ike Clanton’s hide-out, the Abilene sweep, and maybe we’ll try something easy! I know, let’s have a ________ contest! You’ll have to fill in the blank!

I’ll keep you posted by the SASS Wire, my blog, or by email in case we have to cancel or change locations.

Visitors and spectators are always welcome. Please wear your hearing protection and safety glasses.

Safety every time – that’s us!

Sorry folks, no black powder!

You’ll have to use that new-fangled smokeless stuff like whut Turkey Flats Jack uses. Some say he don’t mind…

We hope to see you there. Stay safe and God bless!

All our best,

Slow Mo Dern and the Lake Park Raiders
